For the Shed

When we took possession of our shed in October 2019, it had been derelict for several years and was in a very run-down state. Vandals had covered the exterior in graffiti and by gaining access to the roof had torn down soffit boards and trashed Ventaxia fans, etc.

We spent the months from October to Christmas 2019 setting about repairs.

Following a repaint of the whole exterior and a general tidy up outside we were starting to take pride in our building.

The internal of the building also required fairly substantial restructuring from its use as former changing rooms to make it fit for our purpose.

Walls had to be knocked and the floor repaired to prevent a trip hazard.

You can see how much we enjoyed it and Team WMS was taking shape.

We built our own kitchen facilities and installed a fridge, microwave and cutlery drawer.

Ron built this first workbench from wood we obtained from a local garden centre.

Barry made the second workbench and surrounded it with this clever ‘French Cleat’ system for tool storage.

Adrian’s bench is still under construction. It will have two vices installed so that two shedders can work on either side.

Meanwhile, our artist Steve, is working on a great mural embodying our interests.
